Baker School District uses My Ride K-12 to keep track of all students riding the bus, which includes not only daily transportation, but also transportation for athletics, field trips, and other activities. Parents/Guardians can receive updates in real time on their bus route(s) through the My Ride K-12 app by following the directions below.
Step 1
Download the My Ride K-12 app to your mobile device. It is available for both Android and iPhone devices. Please Allow notifications. This will enable you to receive route change, bus delay, or emergency messages directly from our Transportation department.
Step 2
To create your account, you will need your email address, your first and last names, and a password of your choosing.
Step 3
My Ride K-12 utilizes two factor authentication. The system will send you an email to the email address you entered. Please open your email and select the "Verify Email" button.
Step 4
You will need to know your bus rider’s student ID number and birth date. If you do not know your student's school ID number, please reach out to the Secretary at your student’s school.
Your bus route with pick-up and drop-off times is available in the My Ride K-12 app and when you log in to your PowerSchool Parent and Student Portal. You can find the information after you log in by going to Forms on the left side of the screen and scrolling down to Transportation > Assigned Bus Info.
Please contact the Bus Barn directly with questions about bus routes, which are also available to students attending Choice Option schools.
Families of students who walk to school can check out resources for recommending walking and biking routes to follow at Safe Routes to School.

Baker School District 5J contracts with PACE, an insurance pool for Oregon education organizations provided through the Oregon School Boards Association (OSBA), for property and liability risk coverage. Baker School District's PACE coverage agreement does not include medical coverage for those injured while riding on a school bus when the district isn’t responsible for the accident – for example, when a district bus is hit by another driver who is at fault for the accident.
- File a claim under the family’s auto insurance policy so coverage can be reviewed under the PIP (personal injury protection coverage). Usually, there is no deductible to this coverage.
- File a claim under the family’s personal medical insurance. The medical insurer will also need to review for coverage. There may be co-insurance or a deductible, as each family plan can be different.
- Once all other coverage is exhausted, the PACE program can be notified to review for potential assistance under the special med-pay coverage.
